LEAP activities are happening this month!!!! And remember all LEAP
activities are FREE. There is bakeology with Ms. Lukens and Ms. Schroeder every
Wednesday and Thursday through March!
Students will be able to make yummy treats while making some fun do it
yourself projects!
And if you're really into baking and cooking, then you can sign to
join Ms. Lobianco and Mrs. Redfern every Monday and Tuesday through December 12
to make some great recipes that are perfect for the teenage life!
Also happening soon, on November 2nd and 3rd, you can come and learn
about el Dio de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead. We will learn more about
this special day that originates from Mexico and other Latin American
countries. Students will make sugar skull luminaries, a decorative banner, and
color pages while watching the film Coco.
If you signed
up for VPA, check your school email by Monday of next week for your
placement! It will include the dates and
times you will meet for VPA! If you
signed up, but did not receive an email, contact Mrs. Schumacher!
You can find more great reads at the virtual book fair in the LRC
starting next Monday and going all the way through next week! Remember book fairs in the past when we had
fun contests in the library? Well just because the book fair is online this
year, that doesn't mean we still can't give away fabulous prizes! During
home base you'll receive a flyer with the fair information as well as a wish
list. When the fair opens, go to the website, and look at all the great books.
Fill out a wish list for the book fair, take a picture of it and send that
picture to one of the librarians. (khannan@dbqschools.org,
mschumacher@dbqschools.org, lvogt@dbqschools.org). We'll put your name in
a drawing to win great prizes. Don't forget to give the wish list to your
parents!
Students: Check your email for how to sign up for 7th
and 8th grade girls basketball and 7th and 8th grade wrestling! PRACTICES
start on Monday and you must have a physical packet filled out entirely before
participating!
Now for some big birthday wishes for Jan Ibarra, Ari Fair, Alexis
Westmark, and Khamari Williams who are celebrating on Wednesday and to Elijah
Grayson, who will have an amazing birthday on Thursday!
