No School Monday
Labor Day

The Washington Jazz Band will open up for the Dubuque All That Jazz this Friday, Sept. 1.  The Band will take the stage under the Town Clock and perform from 4:00-4:30.  All 7/8 Jazz Musicians are  to make arrangements to arrive  to the stage to set up at 3:15.  Bring your instrument, music.  Wear school appropriate jeans, a colorful shirt and your silver jazz vest and bow tie. Come out and support our Washington Jazz musicians as they take the stage!

Student Ambassadors

Do you enjoy helping others?  Do you like to show others your school pride and talk to them about all the great things we do here at GWMS?   Then Student Ambassadors may be for you. All students interested in being a Student Ambassador please sign up in the attendance office.  We will be having an informational meeting at 7:30 on September 13 in the Auditorium.  See you there!

Reminder to sign up for 6th grade track in the attendance office if you are interested.

VPA informational meeting on September 5th after school from 2:30-3:00pm if you are interested in auditioning to be in the cast of this year's show!  If you have questions, see Mrs. Schumacher in the LRC. If you cannot make it to the meeting, you can still pick up all the info from the VPA board located across from the auditorium the day after! 

If you want to be a part of the fun we call WTV, stop by the informational meeting on Wednesday, September 6th in the auditorium from 2:30-3:00pm! 


Here's a new policy from the office!  The office staff will make an announcement each day at 2:25 stating names of kids that have messages to pick up in the main office! Please listen for you name to see if there is an important message for you. 

Dubuque Senior Rams play Wahlert Catholic on Friday, September 1st at the Loras College Rockbowl Stadium. Sophomore game is at 5:00 followed by the varsity game at 7:15.

It is not too late to join choir and it's a great way to make friends.  You can develop your singing voice, audition for solos, join in their talent shows, sing popular music, and even  go on tour! So join choir!
  
The announcement of this year's VPA production is.going to be announced one week from today.
  Join us after school in the auditorium on September 5 from 2:30-3pm for an informational meeting if you want to be a part of the cast only. Crew and pit orchestra information will be coming out later in the year!  Questions?  See the happy Mrs. Schumacher in the LRC!  
  
If going fast, jumping high, and working hard make you happy and you are in the 6th grade, then you should join track!  Sign up with Mrs. Kunnert in the attendance office and make sure to smile and make her day!

Any 6th graders who love to run should WALK over to see Mrs. Kunnert in the attendance office to sign up for track.  Just make sure you have your physical on file soon! 

Mrs. Schramm wants you to know the following information: 
It is not too late to join Choir 
It's a great way to make friends 
You can develop your singing voice 
You can audition for solos 
We have talent shows 
We sing popular music 
And in the spring we go on tour! So join choir people!!!!! 

An informational meeting will be held for anyone interested in auditioning to be in the cast of this year's Visual and Performing Arts production on September 5th in the auditorium from 2:30-3pm!  Check out the VPA board located across from the auditorium next week for a few clues regarding this year's show pick! 

A reminder that all students MUST wear their ID's visibly at all times!  So we encourage all students to keep it safe and have a routine that helps you remember to make it a priority each day!
