B Day
When attending sporting events at Washington, students may go to the LRC if you have a LRC contract signed and on file or please leave the building by 2:35. If you leave the building , when returning please go through the 7th grade door entrance.

Submit your photos of school-related activities to Mrs. Mozena to be on WTV. We would love to showcase you and your teammates and friends at Washington activities.  So...if you, your coach, or your parents are taking photos at a volleyball or football practice or game, a cross country practice or meet, or your teacher takes photos of an activity in class, email them with a description or caption to amozena@dbqschools.org   Thanks!

The Visual and Performing Arts Program is super excited about the upcoming informational meeting
on Tuesday, September 4th from 2:30-3:00pm if you are interested in auditioning to be in the cast of this year's show! If you can't make it to the meeting, don't worry!  Just pick up the info from the VPA board on Wednesday, September 5th!  If you have questions, see Mrs. Schumacher in the LRC.  And if you are even thinking about joining choir, it's not too late. See Mrs. Schramm in room 8.

WTV has a lot to offer students! We have lots of positions to fill this year from crew to script writing to anchoring!  So if you are interested in helping out with these daily announcements, please join us for an informational meeting on Wednesday of next week, that September 5th, from 2:30-3:00pm in the auditorium!  Questions?  See Mrs Mozena or Mrs. Schumacher!

If you don't have any plans this weekend, we have some ideas for you. Begin your Friday night by heading over to cheer on the Dubuque Hempstead Mustangs as they play Cedar Rapids Washington.  The sophomore game starts at 5:00 followed by the varsity game at 7:15.

And end your long weekend at the Labor Day Parade on Monday at 9:30am where the Wahahawk marching band members will be strutting their stuff!  Remember when you are out in our community – whether it be at the parade or the Senior Football Stadium, or anywhere else – you are representing Washington Middle School. So be sure to show your GWMS values.   Ms. Hefel and the Washington administrators thank you for showing your GWMS values at the Senior football game this past Friday night!!! Many adults noticed and complimented your behavior!! Thank you!

Thought of the Day: Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy marshmallows, which is kinda the same thing.

Happy Birthday!
