A Day

Student arrival time is 7:25-7:40.

First class begins at 7:45.
School dismissed at 2:30.

7th and 8th grade volleyball, football, and cross country all start today after school for a quick informational meeting!  20 minutes tops.  First full practice will be tomorrow!  Also, be sure to have your physical on file so make sure to get that if haven't already.

And speaking of sports, here are some important reminders regarding football games at Senior High School's Dalzell Field!

That's right!  As we kick-off another season at Dalzell Field, it’s a great time for a few reminders of logistics and expectations for attending high school football games.

All of our secondary schools should be  discussing  good behavior and sportsmanship at games as the year begins. And here is what you need to know!

  • Students are always expected to maintain the same conduct standards as they are in school. Failure to follow the rules at Dalzell will result in students being asked to leave for the evening.
  • At all games, students should sit/stand in the designated student sections. (At Dalzell, this is forward of the painted line in the stands).
  • We recommend that all students in grades K-8 be accompanied by an adult.
  • Remember that no backpacks are allowed in Dalzell Field.
  • Students will be asked to show an ID for admission and must wear that ID visible throughout the event. (This will be waived the first few weeks until ID's are given at the schools).

We are proud of the good sportsmanship, positive behavior and respect for others.  Let's continue that behavior.

It's great to have Washington students represent our school in our community and here's another opportunity to show your school spirit!  Come out and watch the Washington Band Perform in the Labor Day Parade on Sept 3rd at 9:30 A.M.  And also at the final Dubuque and All That Jazz on Sept. 7 at 4:00 P.M.!  More details to come!

We can't forget about the birthdays!  The lucky Wahawks that get to celebrate their birthday on the first day of school are  William Hanniford, Liam Hepker, Adrian Liddell, and Teddy Ruppel!!! We hope you have a great day!

Thought of the day: The secret of getting ahead is getting started!
