Exciting news!  We are having another book fair this year, but this one is both virtual and live in person!!!!  The virtual book fair will run from Feb. 10th through the 23rd. And we will host the in person bookfair in the LRC from February 15th through the 28th!  More details to come!

This month's LEAP activities include Bakeology, the Gay Straight Alliance, Polar Bear Running Club and Game Night. There is also homework help! Come and check them out!

Here's some great Wahawk news! Mrs. Willey has been very proud of the hard work of her social studies class.  She would like to recognize the following students for their hard work this week:

·         Gabby Smith comes to class each morning ready to learn.  She readily participates, always has her work done, and has a great attitude.

·         Starr Towne has worked exceptionally hard.  She makes sure to complete all of her work during her at home days and always asks clarifying questions.

·         Taylor Gukeisen puts forth admirable effort each day in class.  She works hard to understand the content, often steps out of her comfort zone in class, and isn't afraid to ask for help if it is needed.

Keep up the great work 8th graders!

And also, great work to those of you who have been showing your Wash Values and have been picked for the Wash Values Drawing!  Prizes will be delivered to our winners on Monday and Tuesday of next week!  Congratulations to Gwynn Clemen, Verronica Brown, Camrynn Walsh, Lawrence Bunsocan, Bea Romagna, and Ashley Maas!

Happy birthday wishes go out to following Wahawks today and over the weekend!  We hope Martez Palmer, Chevella Gonzalez, Isaiah Stotlar, and Izzy Preglar have an incredible birthday!

The purpose of our club is to build and maintain endurance, set goals, and have fun doing it! All running levels/paces welcome! Please dress for the weather.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays you can also check out the Gay-Straight Alliance.  Washington’s Gay Straight Alliance group is a judgement free group for all students to feel comfortable being themselves. In this group we will have open discussions, participate in a variety of activities, and get involved in the school community. All are welcome!

And MathCounts is meeting a couple more weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with Ms. Digmann through Feb. 3. Participants are gearing up for the MathCounts virtual competition on Friday, February 5th.

Autism Awareness tshirts are on sale now!  Check your email for details. Order forms must be submitted online and payment made to the Ms. Droeszler by this Friday, January 29th.

And since there is winter weather outside, it would wonderful if you would consider donating a box or two of tissues to your school as we battle through cold and flu season!  Also, remember to use scrap paper to dispose of your gum and not tissues because your nose deserves a soft tissue and we want to make sure you have one when you really need it!

Happy birthday wishes go out to Brennan Kreimeyer today as he celebrates his birthday!
