October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women
worldwide and the second-most common cancer overall. Wearing pink in October reminds our loved ones
to be vigilant about screening for breast cancer and raises awareness on a
topic that is not going away, so we are just going to make this day all about
the color pink!
Here’s a friendly reminder that you must wear your picture ID
above the waist every day! If you do not
have it, you must get a sticker from your first period teacher. Also if you are going to be absent or late,
make sure to have a parent call the attendance office as soon as possible!
Also, be sure to check in on Infinite Campus each day of virtual
learning at home. Either you or your parent can do this on a computer or
through the Infinite Campus app on your smart phone.
Be sure to take advantage of LEAP homework help. Every Monday
through Friday from 2:35-4:00pm, students should meet in the south cafeteria to
sign in and get a quick snack provided by LEAP. This year Mrs. Rothert will
work with 6th graders and Mr. Murphy with 7th and 8th graders. Space is
limited to 9 students per classroom.
This week is National School Lunch week and we want to give a
shout out to our cafeteria staff as they provide us with delicious and healthy
lunch options every day! Make sure to thank them!
Happy birthday to Liam Chesher, Christyanna Scott, and Catharine
Ruden on Monday and on Tuesday to
Ashlynn Thein!
