Thursday, September 6th
B day

Students, please cross at the crosswalks. Teachers are out there to help you cross the parking lot and crosswalks at a very busy traffic time.  We also want to remind anyone who rides a bike to WALK the bike on Wash property.  You can ride it once you've left the property.  This is for the safety of ALL students.

6th grade track will start on Monday Sept 10th.  You can sign up for track in the attendance office. Make sure your physical is on file!

If you missed the WTV  informational meeting, you can pick up the forms from the VPA board located across from the auditorium!

If you missed the VPA informational meeting, you can pick up the forms from the VPA board and start working on your audition pieces.  30 seconds of a song and something to read, but if you really want to know what to do when you audition, you should come to the Audition workshop today from 2:30-3:30pm in the auditorium! You will see the do's and don'ts  of auditioning and get all the details you need!

Also, Visual and Performing Arts Program will host an optional parent meeting for any parents of students interested in participating in the VPA program this year.  The meeting will be held tonight from 6-6:30pm in the Washington Auditorium!

Did you know that the second Monday of every month is Wendy's Night for VPA.  This is a night that you should go eat some delicious dinner at the Wendy's on J.F.K. between the hours of 5 and 7pm and the best part is that a portion of what you spend in the store or through the drive thru window goes back to Washington Middle School to help VPA put on an amazing show!  The first Wendy's night of the year is coming up this Monday, September 10 from 5-7.  Be there or be....hungry!

Students should ONLY be wearing their own IDs.  Please no sharing or taking of other students' ID's as this could result in disciplinary action.  It's critical that students keep their IDs free of scribbling, marking on, and destroying their ID's.

Are you interested in being a friendly face to help new students here at Washington?  Mrs. Fure and Mrs. Dowell are looking for student ambassadors willing to help give tours to new students.  If you would like to help, please sign up in the main office.  Questions about being an ambassador? See one of your school counselors.

And now for the thought of the day: The best way to get something done is to begin!

Happy Birthday!!
